CommonWealth Urban Farms was formed in 2010 with the common goal of turning vacant lots in NW OKC into productive green spaces that would benefit the local community. They now cultivate about 1/7th of an acre of vegetables across five lots and sell produce, microgreens, and cut flowers to local restaurants and florists as well as through a Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA) known as the “Veggie Club”. In partnership with Closer To Earth Youth Gardens each Saturday CommonWealth works with local youth and volunteers to turn thousands of pounds of food waste into rich compost, nourishing young plants and minds.
